Cedar’s Approach

Our client serves as the regional Middle East headquarters of a leading automobile company, with its primary function being to look after the region’s sales support and other general management activities. The regional office also acts as a training centre for all its automobile distributors in the region. The Regional office looks after activities in 26 countries. The senior management is concerned that in a rapidly changing external environment that provides significant opportunities, but also significant challenges, it needs to be a strategy-focused organization driven by performance benchmarks and more efficient management processes at a corporate level. This is where Cedar’s assistance & expertise come into play.

The following steps were taken by Cedar:

  • A Strategy Study was conducted to generate initial ideas on what these might be – and these formed the starting point for the client’s Balanced Scorecard Development
  • One-on-one meetings were then conducted, to understand strategic issues & linkages, and develop initial strategy map and a set of measures for strategic objectives
  • A first workshop was then conducted to confirm the Strategy Map and begin the process of defining measures for the Balanced Scorecard
  • A second brief one-on-one meeting, was then followed, to discover views on the first workshop, confirm understanding of the final Balanced Scorecard design, and development of measure templates
  • A Review the work done in the first workshop was carried out with a focus on finalizing the measures & projects to be undertaken
  • The Scorecard was then implemented & communicated to the relevant process owners & stakeholders
